Originally developed as a hospital-grade barrier cream, the Atobarrier 365 Cream represents the second generation of that legacy, built around patented Dermaon Capsule technology: a breakthrough encapsulation system that stabilises the three essential skin lipid classes and delivers them in a sustained, controlled-release format directly into the skin barrier — where they are needed most.

Healthy skin barrier lipids are composed of three key components: ceramides, cholesterol, and fatty acids. Sensitive and compromised skin is characterised by shorter, fewer, and less organised ceramide chains — creating microscopic gaps in the barrier that allow moisture to escape and irritants to penetrate. The Dermaon Capsules in this cream address this precisely. The capsule core contains two ceramide analogues — Hydroxypropyl Bispalmitamide MEA and Hydroxypropyl Bislauramide MEA — which are long-chain, structurally stable ceramide derivatives engineered to mimic the skin’s own ceramides and integrate into its lipid matrix. Alongside these, the capsules incorporate Cholesterol (which regulates barrier permeability and fluidity) and Phytosphingosine — a naturally occurring sphingoid base found in the skin’s upper layers that acts as a precursor to ceramide synthesis, supports antimicrobial defence, and communicates with skin cells to stimulate barrier regeneration. The capsule shell matrix is stabilised by Mannitol and Glucose (sugar-based humectants that also preserve capsule integrity), Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax Extract (a natural wax that gives the capsule structure), and Caesalpinia Sappan Stem Powder (Sappanwood extract — an antioxidant-rich botanical that protects the encapsulated actives from oxidative degradation while also soothing the skin).
