The Ordinary Salicylic Acid 2% Solution is a lightweight, water-based BHA serum with a clear, gel-like texture & a non-greasy finish. Positioned as a no-frills, clinically focused treatment for oily & acne-prone skin, it delivers maximum-strength (2%) salicylic acid at an accessible price point.
This serum is recommended for PM use only, applied after cleansing & before moisturiser in the Treat step of your routine. Because BHAs can increase sun sensitivity, it is not suited for AM use without reliable SPF coverage. The Ordinary advises against layering it with other acids, retinoids, or peptides to avoid irritation & barrier disruption.

Cocamidopropyl Dimethylamine acts as an emulsifier that keeps the salicylic acid water-soluble & stable.
