The Ordinary Retinol 0.2% in Squalane 30ml

The Ordinary Retinol 0.2% in Squalane is a water-free, oil-serum formulation delivering 0.2% pure retinol in a lightweight, anhydrous base. It absorbs with a smooth, non-greasy finish & is positioned as the ideal entry-level retinoid for beginners or those with sensitivity concerns, targeting early signs of ageing including fine lines, uneven texture & dullness.

This serum is strictly a PM formula. Retinol increases photosensitivity, so it must be applied in the evening only & followed with a broad-spectrum SPF the next morning. Begin use 2–3 nights per week to allow the skin to build tolerance, then gradually increase frequency as tolerated. It is not suitable for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Retinol (Vitamin A) drives accelerated cell turnover & stimulates collagen production, visibly reducing fine lines & improving skin tone. Squalane — a stabilised hydrocarbon mirroring the skin’s own sebum — forms the carrier base, offering surface-level hydration & cushioning the potential dryness associated with retinol use. Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride adds lightweight emolliency, while Tomato Fruit Extract & Rosemary Leaf Extract contribute antioxidant support to defend against free radical damage.
