May Island Lip Sugar Scrub is a gentle dual-action exfoliating and nourishing lip treatment from May Island by KOCOSLAB (South Korea), designed to remove dead skin cells from the delicate lip area while simultaneously conditioning and replenishing moisture — leaving lips visibly smoother, softer and more supple. The formula is built around two complementary physical exfoliants: Sucrose (Sugar Crystals), which dissolve gradually on contact with moisture and warmth as you massage, providing progressive, self-regulating exfoliation that is inherently gentler than fixed abrasives since the sugar granules soften as they work; and Juglans Regia (Walnut) Shell Powder, finely milled walnut shell that provides a secondary mild mechanical exfoliation to lift stubborn dry, flaky skin cells. Together, these two exfoliants deliver thorough yet gentle lip resurfacing without micro-tearing the thin, sensitive lip tissue. The moisturising system is built on three plant-derived lipid-rich emollients: Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), rich in oleic and stearic fatty acids, forms a protective occlusive film on the lip surface that seals in moisture and prevents dehydration after exfoliation; Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, a thick, viscous oil with an exceptionally high ricinoleic acid content that provides deep conditioning, enhances shine and gives the lips a plump, glossy appearance; and Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, a liquid wax ester structurally similar to the skin’s own sebum, providing lightweight, non-greasy hydration and enhanced spreadability. The superfruit actives — Hylocereus Undatus (Dragonfruit) Extract and Actinidia Chinensis (Kiwi) Fruit Extract — are rich in Vitamin C, antioxidants, and natural fruit acids that brighten, nourish and revitalise dull, tired lip tissue while contributing to the formula’s fresh, fruity scent. Finally, Propolis Extract and Honey Extract — both bee-derived compounds with centuries of traditional use in skin healing — create a protective moisture-coating film on the lip surface after scrubbing, locking in hydration, soothing any post-exfoliation sensitivity and enhancing the conditioning finish.
